RDNO & Undrus Construction

Developing an 85-acre site presents numerous logistical and technical challenges. One of the primary hurdles was efficiently and accurately capturing the existing topography and features of the entire area.

Integrating the RDNO's existing farm lot design, from their GIS database, with the new irrigation design added another layer of complexity. Ensuring accurate construction layout for Undrus Construction when they required it in addition to providing DXF files to assist them in utilizing their smart phones for the construction was also critical.

Finally, delivering the as-built survey in industry standard formats, suitable for long term management and record-keeping by the RDNO, required rigorous attention to detail.

Geosurv Solutions Inc. addressed these challenges by employing a multi-faceted approach. We utilized high-precision GPS equipment to establish a network of control points across the 85-acre site, providing a robust framework for all subsequent surveying and mapping activities.

To efficiently capture the overall topography and features, we conducted a comprehensive GPS and drone mapping survey. This allowed us to generate a highly detailed orthomosaic and digital elevation model (DEM) of the entire area. We then integrated the RDNO's existing farm lot design from their GIS database, ensuring seamless compatibility with the new irrigation design.

Using the combined data, we performed a precise construction layout for Undrus Construction, clearly marking the locations of irrigation lines, structures, and other key features as requested.

 Finally, upon completion of construction, we conducted an as-built survey to document the final positions of all constructed elements. This data was then processed and delivered to the RDNO in industry-standard formats, including CAD drawings and digital files, ensuring easy access and long-term usability.

The successful completion of this project has provided the RDNO with a valuable set of data and deliverables. The integrated survey, mapping, and drone data provides a comprehensive understanding of the site's topography, existing features, and the precise location of all constructed elements.

This information will be crucial for the RDNO in managing the farm lot moving forward, including irrigation management, future planning, and record-keeping. 

Our collaboration with Undrus Construction ensured smooth and accurate construction execution. The delivery of the as-built survey in industry-standard formats ensures that the RDNO has a readily accessible and usable record of the completed project.
